T-Shirt Quilts

T-shirt Quilts are perfect gifts for high school or college graduates! They are a great way to use old t-shirts and to preserve them as memories.

There are two styles of t-shirt quilts.

1. The Collage T-Shirt Quilt

This style of t-shirt quilt is my preferred style just because I like how it looks and the size and shape of the t-shirt don't have to be uniform.  About 30-35 t-shirts are the best number to create a full-size quilt. The backing can be cotton or flannel, depending on the warmth, softness, and weight desired. The quilts are machine quilted with free motion quilting to ensure the layers will stay together and last for many years. Each quilt takes many many hours  of labor as well as the materials for the back, stabilizer, and batting for the quilt. The result is a priceless memory collection!

Cost: $300, includes materials plus labor

2. Framed T-shirt Quilt

This style of t-shirt quilt works best for a series of t-shirts that are uniform in color in shape. 12 t-shirts are needed for this twin bed sized quilt.
